I’ve turned into the kind of person who Tweets about her dogs. Especially Frank. Since he’s a rescue, I can justify it by urging those in the St. Louis area to support Stray Rescue, the organization from which my family bought him. Read the rest of this entry »
Meet Frank.
Ever since we had to put our sweet dog, Claude, down, her sister (since birth) has been a little down. After considering adoption for a couple weeks, we finally decided to go for it. My work is directly across the street from an incredible organization in St. Louis called Stray Rescue. There are so many volunteers who sacrifice their time and energy to give abandoned, abused, or lost dogs a confortable life.
We found Frank and fell in love. He’s an adorable rotweiler/german shepherd mix, and we could not be happier to have him in our home. If you’re considering dog ownership, I highly recommend skipping the puppy phase and adopting a dog who truly needs you. At Stray Rescue, all dogs are microchipped, spayed/neutered, eligible for assistance for an on-staff personal trainer, and most of all- super loving and appreciative. It really is a fabulous organization.

Happy, happy Monday to you and you and you.
[The end of] today was a most excellent day. My sweet, beautiful dog, Claude, was saved by Divine Intervention. She had been acting lethargic for a few weeks, and barely eating. Since she is 11 now, my parents and I figured that nature was finally taking its bitter course.
I love this dog. Can’t really expand much on that, since I don’t want to get all sappy online. But this dog is my freaking life. (As is Cleo, her sister/partner in crime).
Let’s wrap this up- Claude’s appointment was today at 5:30pm. Although my family was fully prepared to put our sweet little girl to sleep, we discovered that it may not be necessary just yet. Her liver is in terrible shape, but it’s possible that meds (and monitoring her diet) will help her bounce back. Cross your fingers. I feel incredibly fortunate to have her for another night.
